Garry Owen MC Past Events

First Garry Owen House Opened

Friday, 23rd of December 2016

We had our open house of the new Garry Owen House. It was an exciting day for the whole of Garry Owen MC, we had members brom both Knox and Waldo pitching in everyday for the last 2 weeks trying to get everything cleaned up and safe for thr veterans we will be housing. We have had tremendous help from the community with donations from Dirigo Electric who donated a full electric inspection to make sure it was safe.

In the end we would like to thank those that believed in us and helped us with every donation at every event we've had for the past 6 years. it didn't matter how big or small whenever one of you joined us for a ride, donated a few dollars, bought a support shirt, or spoke about us to friends and family every little bit contributed to our sucess today in the milestone. We are far from done though and we hope to see you all in the future.

Supporter Appreciation Day 2016

This is a day where we give back to those that support us . We provide a free lunch and entertainment for our supporters, it's also a good time to get to know the clubs members and for us to get to know you all. This year we also honored a few of our biggest supporters with a thank you plaque for helping us with Garry Owen House fundraising

Once again Fred Barlow donated his time and his slow cookers to make some incredible food for us. We had slow cooked beer can chicken , along with an assortment of salads and desert items brought by club members and their families.

Cadilliac Mtn ride 2016

This year with the changes at the federal level we weren't able to ride to the top of the mountain so we decided to take a scenic ride around it. We ended at the same park as last year and Texas RoadHouse was there to cater lunch for the group with desserts donated by Governor's Restaurant.

The Moving Wall      (Vietnam memorial wall)

Early this year we had the chance for Garry Owen MC to join in on the process that brought The Moving Wall to Thomaston. This was a great experience for all of us and we met a lot of great people on the committee. Our main objective was to keep the parking lots running smoothly along with helping in any area that needed a volunteers.

From all reports the entire project was a huge success, one of the best showings in years. We at Garry Owen MC send out a big thanks to the committee for inviting us to help with this event, also to all of those who visited that wall and showed their support for our veterans.
